Electric Water Pump
An electric water pump moves water from one place to another
just like any other water pump. They pull their power from an electrical
outlet. This means certain precautions must be taken to avoid shock
when using the pump.
If the electric water pump is being used to remove excess
water from a flooded area first make sure all the power is off in that
area, water is an excellent conductor of electricity. The pump will
need to be powered by an outlet or extension cord that is located in
another area. After it’s been established that the area is safe
then the pump can be placed in the lowest part of the room.
Before using an electric water pump examine the cord and
make sure there is no damage or exposed wires. An intact pump will be
quite safe for use in water, but if any part becomes damaged replace
it before using the pump again.
