Water Booster Pumps
A water booster pump can be used several ways. One of
the most common uses of a booster is in a home’s hot water system.
Also known as a recirculation pump, the pump takes hot water that has
cooled and pumps it back through the system’s cold water lines.
This not only saves water (normally people just let the cooled hot water
run down the drain until it becomes hot again) but it also provides
hot water up to eighty percent faster than a setup without the pump.
A water booster pump can also be seen in pool applications
to run a pool vacuum. The vacuum requires additional pressure to propel
itself along the bottom; a booster pump can provide the vacuum with
that pressure. The pump provides an additional forty psi of pressure.
A water booster pump can also be used to increase the
overall water pressure in a house. They work great for deep wells too.
Water lines that must go up in elevation may also use booster pumps.
